The Blancos are currently tracking the Bosnian midfielder but may face competition for his signature from a familiar rival
Real Madrid are monitoring the progress of Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to Marca.
The Spanish club are thought to be keen on the Bosnian midfielder as they look to restructure their squad at the end of the 2015-16 season, with a number of high-profile names linked with moves away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
The midfielder, who is developing a reputation as a free-kick specialist, is thought to be happy with life in Rome but could be swayed by an approach from the Spanish giants.
But Real may not have things all their own way, as Barcelona manager Luis Enrique is reported to be weighing up a move for the midfielder due to his Roma connections, meaning that the Blancos may have to move fast to secure Pjanic on the streets of Madrid.
